TMD Friction presents comfort benefits of its premium brand Nisshinbo
The brake pad specialist TMD Friction is giving the packaging for its Nisshinbo brand a new look. From now on, each box with Nisshinbo brake pads for Asian vehicles will be printed with a “Ceramic” logo, revealing, at a glance, the advantages of NAO pads, also referred to as ceramic pads. NAO stands for “Non Asbestos Organic” and thus refers to the processing of organic materials free of ferrous metal. This means they differ considerably from typical European brake pads in terms of material composition, with their focus on unique braking comfort: Firstly, they ensure less abrasion of the brake disc and therefore less brake dust, while also reducing noise levels with their friction material characteristics.
“The matter of comfort in brake pad applications is especially important in Asia, not least due to the traffic conditions there, such as much stricter speed limits. As a result, the Asian market is almost exclusively made up of ceramic brake pads, even though their advantages are not so well known in workshops or among car drivers. So we’ve now decided to specially highlight these advantages on our packaging”, declares Patrick Bassiere, Global Category Manager at TMD Friction.
