TMD Friction expands range in Middle East & Africa with Nisshinbo brand
One of the world’s leading manufacturers of original equipment friction material and the global replacement parts market, TMD Friction, has enhanced its coverage across the Middle East and Africa with the expansion of its Japanese brand, Nisshinbo.
TMD Friction, which is a Nisshinbo Group Company, currently supplies a full braking solution for European applications with its premium OE brand, Textar. Following the launch of Nisshinbo in early 2017 within the region, the manufacturer will now extend its range to offer a truly global offering for the aftermarket in the Middle East and Africa with a matching premium product for Asian applications through its Japanese OE brand Nisshinbo.
The initial range included 320 brake pads and 210 brake discs and will increase to 490 brake pads and 310 brake discs by the end of 2017.
A material concept consisting of advanced next generation NAO friction formulations has been developed to ensure low noise, low dust and excellent wear characteristics. It is designed to fulfill the special requirements of the Asian car parc, as well as customers’ expectations. The range, which is for Japanese and Korean applications, will step-by-step cover the full Asian car parc. More than 100 years of expertise in developing and manufacturing friction solutions go into this product range, combined with a unique friction profile design, application specific accessories and damping shims, together set the highest quality standard.
Nedal Abu Rikab, General Manager of TMD Friction Middle East Branch, said: “We are constantly developing our portfolio to provide the perfect range for local market requirements.
“Expanding our portfolio with the Japanese OE brand, Nisshinbo, in a market clearly dominated by Asian cars, is crucial for our way forward. Especially as the market environment is completely different than the one for the European parts. Whilst we face tough competition within the Asian segment, we are confident as a global leader in OE brake technology that we can provide our customers with quality products, which never compromise on safety and match the original equipment specification. We will continue to expand the brand over in the coming years to position Nisshinbo as the leading premium friction brand for Asian cars.”
TMD Friction will continue its global roll-out of the Nisshinbo brand in 2018 with the launch in Russia and South East Asia.
